Who we are

This website is operated by Karina Esterhuizen, a Property Practitioner based in Cape Town, South Africa. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Karina Esterhuizen.

We take your privacy seriously and are committed to handling your personal information responsibly, in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What personal information we collect

We collect personal information only when you provide it to us directly. This may include:

  • Your name and email address, when you submit an enquiry or booking request via our contact form

  • Your phone number or address, if you choose to provide these

  • Payment information, when you purchase the ebook (this is processed by our payment provider and we do not store your card details)

  • The content of any messages you send us

 

We do not collect personal information automatically through cookies beyond what Wix, our website platform, requires to operate the site. Wix’s own privacy policy governs how they handle platform-level data.

Why we collect it

We collect your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries and booking requests

  • To process and deliver your ebook purchase

  • To arrange and confirm Consultation Session appointments

  • To communicate with you about your order or session

  • To comply with our legal obligations

 

We will not use your personal information for any purpose other than the one for which it was collected, without your consent.

How we store and protect your information

Your personal information is stored on Wix’s secure servers. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We do not transfer your personal information outside of South Africa except where necessary to use our third-party platforms (such as Wix and our payment processor), which comply with applicable data protection standards.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We may share it with trusted third parties only where necessary to operate our business:

  • Wix, our website platform, for the purpose of hosting and operating this website

  • Our payment processor (Paystack), for the purpose of processing purchases

How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Enquiry correspondence is generally retained for 12 months. Purchase records may be retained for longer to meet tax and accounting requirements.

  • Request access to your personal information

  • Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete information

  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal obligations

2.  Refund and Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to purchases of the ebook RENOVATION: A Survival Guide and bookings for Sessions with Karina Esterhuizen. Please read it before purchasing.

The Ebook — RENOVATION: A Survival Guide

Digital downloads

RENOVATION: A Survival Guide is a digital product. Because it is delivered electronically and accessible immediately upon purchase, we generally do not offer refunds once the download link has been accessed or the file has been delivered.

Technical problems

If you experience a technical problem that prevents you from accessing or opening your purchase, please contact us at karina.esterhuizen@gmail.com and we will do everything we can to resolve the issue promptly, including re-sending your download link or providing the file in an alternative format.

Your statutory rights

This policy does not limit or exclude your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA). In particular, where a product is defective or not as described, you retain your statutory rights to a remedy. If you believe you have a valid CPA claim, please contact us at karina.esterhuizen@gmail.com.

Consultation Sessions

Cancellation by you

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Cancellation 48 hours or more before your session: full refund or rescheduling at no charge, at your preference

  • Cancellation less than 48 hours before your session: the session fee is non-refundable, but we will offer one opportunity to reschedule at our discretion, subject to availability

  • No-show without prior notice: the session fee is forfeited in full

Cancellation by us

If Karina is unable to attend your scheduled session for any reason, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer either a full refund of your session fee or the next available appointment, whichever you prefer.

Rescheduling

We allow one free rescheduling per booking if requested at least 24 hours in advance. Additional rescheduling requests may be subject to a R200/ fee at our discretion.

How to cancel or reschedule

To cancel or reschedule a session, please contact us by email at karina.esterhuizen@gmail.com as soon as possible, including your name and your scheduled appointment date and time.

Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 5 to 10 business days using the original payment method.
